It is difficult to say what is impossible, for the dream of yesterday is the hope of today and the reality of tomorrow. – Robert H. Goddard

It is difficult to say what is impossible, for the dream of yesterday is the hope of today and the reality of tomorrow.

Robert H. Goddard

MEANING OF THIS QUOTE

There are times in our lives when we feel completely powerless. Our situation feels utterly hopeless and we have no incentive to get out of bed. It is one thing for someone to tell you that nothing is impossible and quite another to soldier on even when defeat seems inevitable. However, even when throwing in the towel feels tempting, it is important to remind yourself that what might seem impossible today may be very much within the realms of reality tomorrow.

ISN’T IT FOOLHARDY TO PURSUE SOMETHING IMPOSSIBLE?

Not at all. How is it that something you started out with so much zeal became impossible overnight? Let’s face it, things only seem impossible when our mind convinces us that they are out of our reach. And they definitely become unattainable, if not impossible, once you give up. It is, therefore, important to keep yourself in contention even when the going gets tough. Even when you feel impelled to lose heart and abandon the pursuit of your dreams, keep working hard while waiting for things to get better. More often than not, the longer you keep going, the easier the journey ahead gets.

CONCLUSION

The greatest inventions in the history of mankind wouldn’t have come to fruition if their creators had let life’s trials and tribulations put them off. However, unlike most others, they kept going; they continued to believe in themselves, never losing sight of their dreams. And it is because of this perseverance that they were able to make the impossible possible.

Robert Hutchings Goddard was an American engineer and physicist. He is credited with building the world’s first liquid-fueled rocket. Known as the father of American rocketry, Goddard once remarked: “It is difficult to say what is impossible, for the dream of yesterday is the hope of today and the reality of tomorrow.”
