My love for reading has evolved over the years, largely thanks to my wife and daughter’s voracious reading habits. I used to be intrigued and awed when I saw them finishing up a new book week in, week out. It made me feel that I wasn’t smart enough and had a lot to learn.
During the season of clear blue skies, the ten-year-old me was enjoying myself like any other mundane student would during the summers. Waking up later than usual and having amma serve my favorite breakfast are some of the many memories I still cherish of my summer vacation.

Growing up in rural West Bengal, we didn’t have much to do. As a child, I was always sickly and wasn’t really good at sports. I spent most of my time at home. I always enjoyed listening to my mother’s stories, which ranged from local tales to epics like the Ramayana and the Mahabharata.
