When was the last time you felt completely like yourself?

Perhaps it was an unhurried conversation, returning to an old hobby, or admitting that something you’d worked hard for no longer made you happy.

Those moments can be surprisingly revealing. Especially when we’ve spent years becoming the person everyone expects us to be.

In our latest recommendation, we explore Who Are You? by Prem Rawat, a book that invites us to look beyond our roles and achievements. Its stories and reflections leave us with a question that can feel deeply personal: does the life we’re building feel like our own?

Tap the link in our bio to read the full recommendation. We’d love to know: when do you feel most like yourself?

By nine, Meena is still unpicking her cousin’s wedding blouse. Her dinner has been brought to the sewing room. Another customer’s cream suit lies unfinished on the bed.

It was supposed to be a wedding present.

But every “small” request is taking time she has already promised someone else. And the people asking are people she loves.

How do you explain that being happy to help doesn’t mean you can keep saying yes?

Meet Meena in our latest short story, Only If You Have Time. Tap the link in our bio to read the full story, and save this post for your next reading break.

The project has a folder, a detailed plan, and three possible start dates.

Somehow, it still hasn’t started.

We can get surprisingly good at preparing for something we’re afraid to try. But how do we tell whether we need more information or just a little longer before anyone sees us begin?

In our latest post, a quote attributed to Napoleon has us looking twice at the comforting words, “I’m still working on the plan.”

Five years of love, a silver van, and a goodbye that makes no sense. 🐈

Nana has everything a cat could want: a comfortable home, a human who adores him, and the freedom to act like he owns the place.

You don’t have to be grateful for everything that helped you grow.

That rejection may still sting. The plan that fell apart may still matter to you. Recognizing what you learned doesn’t erase either feeling.

In our reflection on Walt Disney’s words about adversity, we explore the quieter ways we become stronger, including changing direction and letting someone help.

There’s more to moving forward than simply trying harder.

A widower wants to understand his book-loving granddaughter. A teenage library assistant has enough worries without finding him something to read.

Then Aleisha finds a crumpled reading list inside a returned book. As she and Mukesh begin turning its pages, their conversations start to change.

But who left the list?

In our review of The Reading List by Sara Nisha Adams, we explore the connection that grows between them and the moments that left us wanting more.

Imagine planting paddy and watching giant gourds rise from the soil instead.

That is what happens to Amang, an orphan who begins with no tools, no seed and little hope. A dove offers him an unexpected chance, its feathers leave behind a mysterious gift, and a strange harvest begins to grow.

But what is hidden inside those gourds? And how does an old rope from Amang’s past lead to an even greater wonder?

Our latest folk tale from Nagaland follows a boy whose fortunes change in the most astonishing ways. Yet the greatest surprise may be what he chooses to do with everything he receives. 🌿
