Eternal Friendship, a short poem about best friends

‘I’ll wait for you,’ you said

While I tied my shoelace

We lost the race

But our friendship earned first place.

‘I’ll wait for you,’ you said

When I pushed you

And stormed out of the room

And left you in the gloom.

‘I’ll wait for you,’ you said

While cycling faster than me

And smiling in the sunshine

That evening felt divine.

‘I’ll wait for you,’ I said

While wiping my tears

Holding the flowers

And searching for you in the stars.
