Love is one of the few feelings that have the ability to not just invade our dreams, but also get us dreaming with our eyes open. Let’s face it, we have all been in love – some more often than others. A person in love has the power to move mountains, so to speak. Life suddenly seems much brighter than it previously was, and even the most uninteresting things seem rosy. It isn’t unheard of for a person in love to spend several sleep-deprived or altogether sleepless nights swooning over their love interest. One of the reasons why is because the reality finally feels better than dreams.
IS THIS NORMAL?
Of course it is. Every person is said to fall in love at least thrice in their lifetime. And each time, it catches you off guard and sweeps you off your feet. It becomes hard to concentrate on anything but the person you are head over heels in love with. Sleep obviously becomes evasive as you keep making and breaking several plans for a promising future.
AND WHEN IT COMES TO UNREQUITED LOVE?
The process is pretty much the same even when your feelings are one-sided. Unfortunately, though, this period of unfounded optimism and daydreaming is followed by an equally sharp fall into the abyss of dejection and heartbreak. That said, there isn’t much you can do about it, for it’s part of the journey called life.

Treating a person to a dream-like state even when they are awake, many people liken love to a sort of narcotic.
